Description
Description of the MST-TR20 Drill Safety Guard
The MST-TR20 model protects the operator from direct contact with rotating spindle parts and from chips, shavings and lubricant-coolant projections. It is securely fixed to the left side of the machine and supplied with a semi-octagonal polycarbonate shield offering excellent visibility of the work area. The guard includes a double vertical adjustment system:
- Via the internal hub-Shield of the telescopic shield-arm group
- directly on the telescopic arm itself
Each unit comes with a certified interlock microswitch, compliant with OSHA, ANSI, ISO-EN and CE safety standards, preventing the machine from starting while the guard is open.
Advantages of the MST-TR20
- Certified safety with integrated interlock system that prevents startup when the guard is open
- Dual vertical adjustment for fast, ergonomic positioning
- Maximum visibility of the machining area with a clear semi-octagonal polycarbonate shield
- Strong steel construction suitable for large and radial drills
- Full compliance with OSHA, ANSI, ISO-EN and CE international standards
Main Components (numbered on the diagram)
- Anchorage stirrup - in pressed steel
- Safety microswitch main box - 180° rotation - n.2 NC contacts - electrically interlocked
- Telescopic shield support arm - in tubular steel
- Arm-shield release knob from the internal hub
- Clamp with shield release screw from the telescopic arm
- Semi-octagonal shield in thick polycarbonate
About the Interlock System
The interlock mechanism prevents the drill from starting when the guard is open or incorrectly positioned.
This safety device greatly reduces the risk of accidents and guarantees full compliance with international standards (OSHA, ANSI, ISO-EN, CE).

Maintenance and Cleaning
Before each use, it is recommended to check the integrity of the guard (no cracks or visible damage) and verify the correct operation of the safety microswitch. Cleaning must only be performed by trained personnel, when the machine is completely stopped. Clean the guard whenever clear visibility of the working area is required to ensure optimal safety and durability.

FAQ — Frequently Asked Questions
Is This Guard Ccompatible With All Radial Drills?
Yes, it fits most radial and large-dimension drills. Check A-B-C dimensions in the table to confirm compatibility.
Does the Interlock Prevent the Machine From Starting When Open?
Yes, the electrically interlocked microswitch allows machine startup only when the guard is fully closed.
Can the Height Be Adjusted During Operation?
No. Adjustments must be made while the machine is stopped, using the telescopic arm or the inner hub knob.
Maintenance Tips?
Clean the shield when visibility decreases and always inspect the guard and microswitch before operation.
