Prismont Limited Warranty

General information regarding the limited warranty applicable to products offered through the Prismont website.

What Warranty is Offered With PRISMONT Products?

All products manufactured by Prismont are covered by a limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 120 days from the date of shipment.

This warranty applies to products purchased through the Prismont website and covers only defects related to manufacturing or materials under normal and appropriate use conditions.

Are Products Manufactured by Third Parties Covered?

For products manufactured by third-party manufacturers, Prismont will provide customers with the applicable manufacturer warranty.

When applicable, Prismont may assist customers with the warranty claim or communication process with the manufacturer.

Warranty conditions, limitations and coverage periods may vary depending on the manufacturer and product concerned.

What may Prismont do if a warranty claim is approved?

If a warranty claim is deemed admissible, Prismont may, at its sole discretion:

  • replace the affected product or component;
  • repair the defective component;
  • or provide a functionally equivalent replacement part.

Repaired or replacement parts may be new or refurbished depending on the applicable situation.

Unless otherwise specified, the warranty applies only to the affected parts or components. Shipping, travel, installation, labor or on-site service costs are not included.

When does the warranty period begin?

The warranty period begins on the product shipment date.

Unless otherwise specified, the warranty does not begin on the installation date, commissioning date or first use date.

Can an inspection or validation be required?

Any product or component subject to a return or warranty claim may be inspected and evaluated by Prismont.

This evaluation is intended in particular to confirm that the product was used under normal operating conditions and in accordance with applicable recommendations.

Conditions and Exclusions

Certain situations, uses or components may limit, exclude or void the Prismont limited warranty.

What types of failures may be covered?

The Prismont limited warranty primarily covers manufacturing defects and material defects observed under normal and appropriate use conditions.

Depending on the situation, Prismont may, at its sole discretion:

  • replace the affected product or component;
  • repair the product;
  • adjust the purchase price;
  • or refuse the claim if warranty conditions are not met.

What situations may limit, exclude or void a warranty?

The warranty may be limited, excluded or voided in situations including, but not limited to:

  • abnormal or improper use of the product as well as abuse, misuse and negligence;
  • non-compliant installation;
  • improper electrical connections;
  • inadequate or insufficient maintenance;
  • use under abnormal mechanical or environmental conditions;
  • modifications not authorized by Prismont;
  • repairs performed by unauthorized persons;
  • improper handling or misuse of the product;
  • use outside the product’s intended purpose;
  • damage caused by impacts, drops, lightning, fire, power surges, floods or other external causes;
  • damage related to transportation, storage, assembly or improper handling.

Prismont shall not be held responsible for improper connections, improper installation, misuse or inadequate maintenance of Prismont products.

Are wear parts covered?

Normal wear, maintenance and consumable parts are not covered under the warranty.

This includes, without limitation:

  • abrasive belts;
  • abrasive wheels;
  • greases;
  • lubricants;
  • batteries;
  • lamps;
  • filters;
  • blades;
  • polycarbonate screens;
  • and other components subject to normal wear.

Warranty Claims and Inspection

Any warranty request may require validation, inspection or prior authorization before a product can be returned, repaired or replaced.

How are warranty claims reviewed?

Any warranty claim submitted to Prismont may be subject to analysis, validation or inspection before a return, repair or replacement request is approved.

This evaluation may include verification of:

  • the condition of the product;
  • operating and usage conditions;
  • the nature of the reported issue;
  • and the eligibility of the claim under the applicable warranty conditions.

If applicable, a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and return instructions will be provided to the customer.

During holidays, plant shutdowns or extended closures, warranty processing and response times may be longer.

What may Prismont do after the inspection?

Following the inspection or evaluation of the product, Prismont may, at its sole discretion:

  • repair the product;
  • replace the affected part or product;
  • adjust the purchase price;
  • or refuse the claim if warranty conditions are not met.

Prismont’s liability shall remain limited to the purchase value of the affected product.

Who is responsible for shipping costs?

All shipping, freight, transportation, return, repair or replacement costs for products shipped to Prismont must be prepaid by the customer unless otherwise specified.

The customer is also responsible for ensuring that returned products are packaged properly and securely to minimize transportation damage.

Warranty Limitation and Liability

The following limitations define the scope of the warranty offered by Prismont as well as certain restrictions applicable to the use of related products and services.

What is the scope of the Prismont limited warranty?

The Prismont limited warranty constitutes the sole express or implied warranty provided by Prismont and replaces all other warranties of any kind, whether contractual, legal, statutory or otherwise, including warranties related to merchantability, quality or compatibility.

The applicable warranty remains limited to the remedies expressly provided under this policy.

What liability limitations apply?

Prismont’s total liability relating to any claim, product or warranty shall under no circumstances exceed the purchase price of the affected product.

Prismont shall not be held liable for indirect, incidental, punitive or economic damages, including but not limited to:

  • production losses;
  • loss of profits;
  • operational interruptions;
  • or any other consequence related to the use, installation or inability to use a product.

Are warranties offered to third parties covered?

If a purchaser grants an end user or third party a warranty whose scope or duration exceeds the conditions established by Prismont, Prismont shall not be held liable beyond the scope, limitations, remedies, periods and conditions provided under this policy.

What remedies are available to the customer?

The customer’s sole remedy and Prismont’s only obligation under this warranty shall, at Prismont’s sole discretion, consist of:

  • repairing or replacing products deemed defective or non-compliant;
  • or adjusting the purchase price of the affected product.

Claim a Warranty

Follow the steps below to submit a warranty request to Prismont.

Send Us an Email

Send us your full name, company, address, phone number, email, a copy of the product invoice, a photo and the SKU code of the product as well as a description of the problem encountered at service@prismont.com.

Warranty Claim Analysis

We will analyze your request and if the warranty is applicable, we will send you a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) code and detailed instructions for you to return the product.

Shipping the Products

Follow the instructions received. All freight charges related to the replacement or repair of products shipped to Prismont must be pre-paid and charged by the Customer.

Step 1 - Send Us an Email

Send the following information to service@prismont.com :

  • your name;
  • your company name;
  • your contact information;
  • a copy of the purchase invoice;
  • the product SKU number;
  • photos of the product;
  • and a detailed description of the issue encountered.

Step 2 - Warranty Claim Review

Our team will review your request to determine whether the warranty may apply.

Additional information, photos or technical validations may be requested if necessary.

If the request is approved, a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and return instructions will be provided.

Step 3 - Return the Product

Follow the instructions provided by our team to return the product.

All transportation and return shipping costs must be prepaid by the customer unless otherwise specified.

Products must be packaged properly to reduce the risk of transportation damage.

Step 4 - Repair or Replacement

Once the product has been received and evaluated, Prismont will determine whether the product can be repaired, replaced or if another applicable solution may be offered.

Depending on the applicable situation, Prismont may proceed with the repair or replacement of the product or affected components.
