Table Sr reports regular opening types. Dimension of opening “e” equals the side of a squared opening, the diameter of a rounded opening and the smaller side of a loopholed opening. For openings wider than 120mm (4 ²³/₃₂"), safety distances should conform with requirements in UNI EN ISO 13857 4.2.2..

Highlighted in the table is the part of the body involved according to opening dimension. If the length of the loophole opening is lower or equal to 65mm, thumb acts as a block and safety distance can be reduced to 200mm (7 ⁷/₈").

Reaching hazard zone with lower limbs through regular shaped openings.

When free access with higher limbs is not possible, table 7 can be used in order to establish safety distances for lower limbs. The dimension of opening “e” corresponds to the side of a squared opening, the diameter of a round opening and the smaller side of a loophole opening. Values reported in table 7 are valid independently from clothing and footwear and are applied to people from the age of 14.
  1. If loophole opening length is lower or equal to 65mm (2 ⁹/₁₆"), big-toe acts a stop and safety distance can be reduced to 200mm (7 ⁷/₈").
  2. Values corresponds to leg (from toe-tip to knee).
  3. Values corresponds to leg (from toe-tip to groin).
NOTE : loophole opening with e > 180mm (7 ³/₃₂") and square or round opening with e>240mm allow free access to the whole body.

CRASH TEST UNI EN ISO 14120

PRISMONT Range is assembled with PRISMONT fixing system patent N. 222845. This system has undergone strict dynamic resistance tests from inside to outside impacts according to the so called “rigid body” procedure contained in the UNI EN ISO 14120 passing the test with flying colours for impacts above 115J. Safety distances conforming with point 4.2.2 have been applied.
