Description
Description of the MST-TO04 Large-Diameter Lathe Chuck Safety Guard
Specially designed for heavy-duty and large-capacity lathes, the MST-TO04 provides reliable protection against direct contact with the rotating chuck as well as from chips, working swarfs and coolant projections.
The robust support structure, fully adjustable on two axes (X and Y), allows easy anchoring at the rear of the machine, or at the front if required.
Its dual interlocked safety microswitch system prevents the lathe from starting unless the shield is fully closed, guaranteeing compliance with international standards OSHA, ANSI, ISO-EN, and CE.
The semi-circular aluminum shield is divided into two sections, allowing either partial opening (front section only) or full opening depending on the operation. The shield can also be completely folded back and locked on its axis, clearing the workspace for adjustments or maintenance.
This ergonomic design ensures an ideal balance between safety, visibility, and operator accessibility.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions about the MST-TO04
What is the purpose of this guard?
It protects the operator from direct contact with large-diameter chucks and shields against chips, coolant, and lubricants, while maintaining good visibility and easy access.
How does the interlock system work?
When the shield is lifted or opened, the dual safety microswitch system immediately cuts off power to the lathe, preventing accidental start-up.
Can the shield be opened partially?
Yes. The shield is divided into two sections: you can open only the front section for minor adjustments or fully open it for complete access.
Can the guard be fully retracted?
Yes. The MST-TO04 can be folded completely to the rear and locked, freeing the space around the chuck for adjustments or maintenance.
Is this product compliant with international standards?
Yes. The MST-TO04 complies with OSHA, ANSI, ISO-EN, and CE standards.
