Description of the Surface Grinder Safety guard
This interlocked guard for surface and universal grinders is designed to enhance operator safety in industrial environments by shielding the operator from direct contact with rotating parts of the grindstone and from coolant or liquid ejection, while maintaining high visibility and ease of access.
With its dual anchoring system, the guard mounts to the machine base by two horizontally multi-adjustable supports (point 2) that allow an anchorage of the guard from the bottom side (as shown) or frontally, offering maximum installation flexibility. The supports may be shortened if needed. The integrated inclined structure channels liquids away, contributing to a cleaner and safer workspace.
The telescopic ball-bearing guides enable the two sliding doors to open completely, facilitating loading and unloading of large parts. The shield is constructed of thick shock-resistant, oil-resistant plastic to ensure durable visibility and robust protection. The dual safety microswitch ensures that the machine cannot start unless the guard is fully closed, substantially mitigating accident risk.
