Description
Description of the Drill Safety Guard
The MST-TR10 / TR11 protects the operator from direct contact with rotating spindle parts and from the projection of chips, shavings, and lubricant-coolant. Its semi-hexagonal polycarbonate shield is supported by a widely adjustable hexagonal arm and equipped with an innovative vertical opening system at 60°, 120°, and 180° positions, ensuring quick and safe machine access.
Available in two versions :
- MST-TR10/... Frontal mounting, fixed at the front of the machine
- MST-TR11/ ... Lateral mounting, fixed on the side of the machine
The safety microswitch is integrated into the special rotation hinge that supports the shield, ensuring reliable electrical interlocking.
Choosing the Right Configuration
- Frontal mounting (MST-TR10): Recommended when frontal access is preferred or lateral space is limited (e.g., machine installed near a wall).
- Lateral mounting (MST-TR11): Ideal for open work areas or when side access is more convenient.
Compatibility tip: Verify your available space and A/B/C dimensions (see table below), and ensure a suitable mounting point is available on the front (MST-TR10) or side (MST-TR11) of your machine.
Advantages of the MST-TR10 / TR11 Safety Guard
- Two configurations: Choose between frontal (MST-TR10) or lateral (MST-TR11) mounting
- Vertical opening 60° / 120° / 180°: Provides quick access without disassembly
- Adjustable hexagonal arm: Delivers rigidity, precision, and a wide range of motion
- High-visibility semi-hexagonal shield: Resistant to shock, oils, and cutting fluids while maintaining clear visibility
- Integrated interlock: Microswitch prevents start-up when open; OSHA / ANSI / ISO-EN / CE compliant
- Quick maintenance: The polycarbonate shield is easily replaceable
Main Components (numbers refer to the diagram)
- Anchorage stirrup, lateral version - in pressed steel
- Support arm, lateral version - in steel hexagon
- Release knob for the vertical adjustment of the shield
- Shield support hinge, with integrated microswitch - n.2 NC contacts - electrically interlocked
- Semi-hexagonal shield in polycarbonate
About the Interlock System
The MST-TR10 / MST-TR11 guard includes a safety microswitch integrated directly into the hinge and connected to the machine’s control circuit. When the guard is opened, the machine automatically stops and cannot restart until the guard is closed again and the circuit is reset according to the machine’s safety procedure. This ensures continuous operator protection and full compliance with OSHA / ANSI / ISO-EN / CE standards.

FAQ — Frequently Asked Questions
How Do I choose Between MST-TR10 and MST-TR11?
Choose MST-TR10 for frontal mounting and MST-TR11 for lateral mounting, depending on access and available space.
Is This Safety Guard Interlocked?
Yes. The hinge-integrated microswitch prevents the machine from starting while the guard is open..
How Does the Interlock Work in Practice?
Opening the guard instantly cuts the run command and prevents restart until the guard is closed and the circuit is reset.
Can I Bypass the Interlock for Quick Adjustments?
No. Bypassing the interlock disables the safety function and violates compliance. Use the 60° / 120° / 180° opening positions for adjustments while the machine is stopped.
